Travel Advising

fee-based

We guide you through the travel planning process and take care of all the arrangements.

Travel advising is great for

→ busy professionals who want help vacation planning

→ creating a completely bespoke trip, or finding a great self-guided vacation

→ two or more parties traveling together, or more than four travelers

→ organizing a private tour for your small group, or joining like-minded travelers on an existing small group tour

Travel advising is offered as a fee-based service based on the number of travelers and length of trip.

Travel Coaching

subscription-based

You book your own travel, with help.

You book your own travel, but In Situ provides your sounding board. We help with research, offer suggestions and recommendations, and talk through decisions with you. We put a second pair of eyes on your bookings (if you want) to make sure they are correct and as you want them to be.

Travel coaching is great for

→ solo travelers

→ new travelers

→ well-heeled explorers seeking the challenge of an unfamiliar destination

→ people who prefer Airbnbs, frequent flyers, and point-trackers who maximize loyalty programs

→ slow travelers & digital nomads who want to keep in touch with a trusted back-up

Travel coaching is offered as a subscription service, usually for three to four months at a time, with weekly check-ins. It is surprisingly affordable, but has limited availability.

Note: booking services do not apply to AirBnbs. Why? because you need to have direct contact with the host, without third-party intervention. If you need help researching AirBnbs, or want to use a different vacation rental service (e.g. Vrbo), we can help.

Booking services are offered at a 10% mark-up. Regular clients may negotiate a quarterly subscription service (retainer).

  • In Situ Tours helps independent travelers of any age or travel experience, including solo travelers, couples, and families, as well as small groups.

  • We do not book large group bus tours with strangers.

  • We can work with students, young families, and explorers on shoestring budgets (backpackers, hostelers).

  • For high-end travelers seeking a bespoke, luxury tour (5-star hotels, private guides), we can provide a dedicated concierge service.
